If you criticize that viewpoint, especially in a university outside the US, they'll look at you like you're saying rain is dry.
Which is why it was generally pretty important to the facade that Zionism was treated as an unspeakable Nazi word, and that talking about Israel by name was really only done in Right-wing circles either pro or against.
