It's owned by a private company, not the Chinese government or a state-owned enterprise. Even if it did, I'd be more concerned about the US security state's endless illegal spying.
The same NatSec professionals who are anti-TikTok say yes.
What I noticed is that the action is completely disproportionate to the claim. So if the app is spying on people, which is what they claim, why not ban that instead of specifically targeting one app? Perhaps because they want to use American apps to spy on users themselves.
