This kind of "let live" fence sitting was only acceptable back then when "The Good Ones" Lefties of GG still thought we could live in their utopia if we just got rid of the Extremists ruining the Left from saving everyone.
I don't know Notch's currently beliefs on the topic, I'd hope if they changed it would be included here, but this kind of "radical centrism" type set up is going to appeal to no one anymore. It'll still get him canceled by the Left and now the new Right wing isn't afraid to do the same back.
Its a cowardly tactic by Kern to try and frame it that way. Showing how "safe" and mainstream he is, despite positioning himself as a stalwart defender.
However, the AI bot thing is very notable and him catching it is very good evidence for both this and all future "cancellations." Because it proves what could only likely be suspected before, and now you can just dismiss everything as a "bot" entirely.
I disagree. This seems to be the default position that the normies are coming to. The whole video game industry is beginning to reverberate with "we should focus on video games". It never accepted the idea of "this was being done to us intentionally by Leftists."
Anti-trans positions are becoming incredibly commonplace. Not just "the woke evil trannies" but "trans in general is harmful and bad."
The push for it to be truly "normalized" like it was with gays and blacks and women failed and now its becoming only the most dedicated Leftists who even might be "let live" about the issue. I can see people around me daily bringing it up in conversation what the "freaks" are doing when something goes viral. Including the most TDS suffering Dem voters.
Its bad marketing because its trying to be milquetoast on an issue that is polarized. Its literally that "maybe we only kill half of them!" anti-centrist comic the Lefties like to post.
I don't disagree that that's the case on the trans issue, but I think on "wokeism" generally, the attitude is more "leave gaming alone" rather than "defend against the horde".
Woke yes, but in this case it was specifically the trans issue being talked about. Trans has reached such a point where its gotten taken outside the overall Intersectional Woke collective and people who would be neutral-resistant to Woke are heavily anti-trans.
