look my original point is that we shouldn't be casting such huge nets when calling out degeneracy. It can lead to cry-wolf situations that lose you credibility. By focusing on the actual harmful behavior, you weed out innocent people who would otherwise be lumped in.
It is, and that is why we shouldn't simply handwave away "lesser" evils because their effects aren't as obvious or pronounced.
My point was that your point is wrong, because it is inherently harmful to both the person and society. No less so than being a whore is. And therefore handwaving it off is just cowardice.
If you want to play it as an optics game, which is what you are now proposing, that's one thing. I disagree but its a completely different point of view of trying to be pragmatic, rather than trying to moralize it.
I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on that. We're going in circles at this point.
Regarding optics, that's certainly an angle but I'm also thinking about morality. Catching innocents to trap the guilty is wrong, and I want to avoid that.
We can agree to disagree on it then.
But I am not arguing trapping innocents to get the guilty. I am saying their very existence makes them guilty because of what will certainly come to pass by the logistics of that status.
That's why I brought the pedophile comparison in. Because nobody but the worst of the Left or Libertarians are arguing that they aren't inherently an evil type. But its the same thing in my mind, a "sexuality" that by its the logistics of its existence brings only negatives to both the person and society and that isn't "socially" crafted (aka can't be removed).
