They fucking done it, they actually made TDS 1101.
Fuck, I wish I could sign up for it and asks questions like a good attentive student and see which would happen first: be beaten by students or thrown out by the professor.
Back in college, sometimes I'd just look up the class schedules, and if I had an opening, I'd just show up to one that interested me, even without being registered. It's how I learned to speak German.
Granted, that'd be harder for you or me to do now, being likely obviously older -looking than the other people there, and likely not being registered in the university at all.
I kind of wish I had this attitude, the times I’ve been, but I personally hate lectures so very much (ADHD? Maybe…) that I usually only went to them live if a) it was mandatory/unrecorded or b) there were attractive women in the class who I was friendly with…
This… Has not served me well in life, I will admit.
For some bizarre reason, though, when I go to one-off “public talks” on whatever topic, I find myself being more like as you describe, so I’m not sure what that says about my psyche/subconscious…
But anyway, if I do go back again, I’ll be “older”, as you say, so fairly unlikely to be sneaking into extra classes that I’m not enrolled in, as you say…
That time in life has passed me by, too…
Edit: Interestingly, on field trips/prac work, by contrast, I was always one of the only attendees there who actually cared enough to take notes/ask questions, and actually wanted to be there, more than just slugging through it to get the attendance tick. Again, I’m not sure what it says about my brain/method of learning, but I did always notice that…
Unfortunately most of Uni is not practical like that, and I hated trade school even more than I hated “college”, lol…
