I watched season 1 and really wasn't impressed. But the show was a big part of the zeitgeist, so I figured I'd bring it up.

If you don't mind; It's unlikely that I'll return to it.
Costner and TS had a falling out during season 5 multi year hiatus resulting in Costner peacing out from the show.
They killed him off screen when the show resumed last November.
LOOOOOOOL
John was killed in the first episode of the 5th and final season. He was killed by a hitman sent by Jaime's girlfriend. Beth sells the ranch to the Indian chief for $1.59 per acre, the original price the Dutton's paid. Kayce kept part of the land for a small ranch. Beth and Rip bought a tiny ranch, and Beth kills Jaime in a fist fight
Thanks, glad I decided to avoid it. Quite possibly the most Taylor Sheridan ending imaginable.
He's a mixed bag for me. He's done work I've really enjoyed like Wind River, Hell or High Water, Sicario but he's done some dog shit as well. I bet he'd reallly be good writing in the 90s and early 2000s with less of the woke garbage around.
Mixed bag with a negative trajectory imo. Hell or High Water and Sicario where good, but the later seasons of Yellowstone, the spin-offs and Tulsa King weren't. I didn't even consider watching Lioness given how he writes female characters.
Holy terrible. Glad I stopped after season 2
