I could have sworn there was a girls of gaming thing in playboy. it was all renders and cheesecake, but I'm fairly sure it happened.
Internet says October 2004 was one of the issues. And another in 2005, and 2009.
As I looked this up, I discovered they also did a limited series of trading cards for the one in 2005.

If you bring it up, she'll say she's not technically wrong. AFAIK, Lara Croft was never a part of that. I found several lists, but I didn't see her on them. And that's who she mentioned.
Nevermind the fact that there were game themed playboy issues for several years.
Her refinement of her argument, (i.e. 'that you'll find none of this in classic games) gets destroyed by the playboy spreads. The only reason that these kind of graphics weren't used earlier is the technical limitations of the time.
ffs. She should look up 'Custer's Revenge' and tell me classic gaming didn't have a seedy underbelly. I want to belly laugh at her.
I remember there being an official Bloodrayne thing with Playboy. Actual art, not a model cosplaying.
