Want to get away from the living hell we've made. Don't forget to pay some more tax.
They wake up in the morning and turn on the light switch, and they are taxed. They get in their car, and they are taxed.
So it's not even a one-time payment, they continue to chase you for money for life? Despite no longer providing any services to speak of? Despicable.
The Netherlands saw that the IRS can get away with it so why not? Hell the IRS is even worse because foreign banks do deny services to american citizens/greencard holders because of FATCA.
I assume they're keeping their Dutch citizenship, which does actually entitle them to benefits provided by the state, such as holding a Dutch passport.
I presume they are just doing the same thing the US has done for ages and making citizens subject to income tax worldwide. The US tax you can write off foreign tax paid as a credit, which is fine if you move to somewhere else with high taxes but go to a low tax place and you're screwed to keep paying anyway.
Income tax is theft anyway.
i mean, it's obvious they are doing it as some sort of rich person commie tax, but on the other hand, people being able to delude themselves into thinking that fleeing problems solves them has been a great reason as to why nothing's getting better in the western world... so, frankly, i approve. let the dutch stay amongst the dutch and sort this out if they're so mad about it.
Fuckers.
It has something to do with moving to a tax haven.
Incoming Bitcoin spike just after this law passes.
And now you know what the sanctions regime against Russia et al is really all about, keeping us in the global homo finance system.
