Shouldn't this be a conflict of interest since he's literally the father of the accused? how is this allowed?
This [Dems abusing the system through loopholes and lack of specific legislation saying "Don't be a retarded shithead"] is literally how amendments get written.
22nd was put in place after FDR won 4 terms, until then every single previous POTUS only ever stood for a max of 2 terms and then didn't stand for further reelection as a gentlemen's agreement to Washington doing that as the 1st, and Jefferson doing the same as the 3rd. Adams, the 2nd, only stood for 1 term.
Of course in various media it's always Reps who are the ones shown abusing or repealing the 22nd, like with Nixon doing just that in the original Watchmen graphic story, and always ignores the reason why the 22nd was written in the first place.
Who lost the 1800 election then?
'Conflict of interest' isn't an issue. They said this when they were falsely claiming that Trump was going to pardon himself - that you can't pardon yourself. But the ability to pardon family members has never been in question.
