They claim that the game companies hire the moderators for their own forums, but I haven't seen one example of right leaning moderation, but I've seen tons of left wing moderation. All manner of vile, caustic, and even threatening speech can be used by lefties in Steam forums, but if you dare question globohomo one millimeter outside the accepted boundaries, your post or comment will be removed. And Steam never stops it, at least as far as I've heard.
ADL, as per usual, is just kvetching that Steam and the mods aren't clamping down even more on "hate speech", wanting to censor people more than they already are.
