Which is why I always laugh at people who say that conspiracies can't be true because there would be whistleblowers. The reality is that anything evil enough is too hard for most people to cope with so they instinctively go into denial to avoid coming to terms with it, or there actively are whistleblowers that are then immediately either ignored, called loony, or just taken for granted.
