there is no deep cultural significance to putting tapioca pearls in tea.
Also, tapioca was first cultivated by South American tribes and then spread through the world by White people's commercial routes.
I hope every cook who makes these teas pays proper, clearly visible respect to those two groups on every cup or can of their products. /s
