What’s worst is looking at their heads. Everyone has big heads and stubby arms. It’s Reddit but there is a link that shows an edit they did by just reducing the character’s head and giving them shoulders made them a lot better.
You inspired to go look for that Reddit post, and, WOW, what an eye-opener. I knew the characters looked terrible, but couldn't explain why beyond the obvious.

Should have gone all the way and done proper japanese chibi style.
Bioware's been shit with their characters' body proportions for some time now, as this chart comparing Ryder with Shepard demonstrates.
Well its not like the people making these games are incredibly talented devs doing leaps and bounds worth of effort to concoct these ugly goblins.
They almost certainly are using pre-existing frameworks, made by competent devs, and then just re-sizing certain parts to match their own manjaw and lack of tits.
