It's not a population purge. As another poster said, the IDF is infamously casualty averse. They just need bodies, and this was an untapped source.
There could be some MGTOW types among them, but their exemption that got overturned was based on them doing "religious studies" instead. They were going to spend their lives reading religious texts that say the goyim are subhuman beasts with no souls. Them finally getting drafted is basically the rest of Israel saying, "yeah, we know the goyim are subhumans now get off your asses and help us kill them." I do wonder what the ratio of genuine religious nutters vs. MGTOW-ish men hiding from the draft is though.
