Well, there are a whole lot of people, especially people who live in rural communities, who don’t – there’s no Kinko’s, there’s no Office Max near them. People have to understand that when we’re talking about voter ID laws, be clear about who you have in mind and what would be required of them to prove who they are."

fucking christ, I had mercifully forgotten this tripe... Yes kamala, farmers have printers...and the internet. Hell, I lived in a town basically held up by a grain elevator, and we had fiber optic internet in the early 2000s. Granted it was shear luck that the fiber optic cable was being built right past (through? I dunno) the town, but shocking though it might be to big city sophisticates, rural folk can manage modern technology...

Rural white people can easily manage paperwork for documents and licenses, certain urban populations can't.

that's the line they try to give... but a few years back, a reporter proved otherwise.

Seen that video before, and it's spot on.

Democrats practice a racism of low expectations that just doesn't stand up to any logical scrutiny. If blacks had trouble obtaining ids, they wouldn't be able to readily buy alcohol, tobacco, to rent a car, or to stay in a hotel.

Since no one is praising the black community for being almost completely non-smoking teetotalers, or raising the alarm about a national epidemic of blacks not being able to lodge in hotels, it stands to reason there's no real issue for them to get IDs.

It should be obvious that they aggressively fight attempts at voter ID because they believe that the majority of people voting fraudulently that would be detected by checking their ID are voting Democrat. They just need a good story to fool the useful idiots that form their voter base.

well, the problem is the voter base wants it to be true so they can be the white saviors that protect the poor, helpless minorities from the big, bad, evil, racist republicans, and assuage their white guilt for being closet racists...

I spent a ton of time in the early 2000s in extremely poor southern rural areas. I was a tech contractor working at small schools. I know of a couple that had as much tech as the college I was in at the time despite having 150 students combined through all 12 grades. City people are clueless and just assume they are superior.

They don’t need a Kinkos either, that’s not how stuff works in small towns. The guy at the post office or the secretary at their kids school would totally copy something for them no big deal.

Even third world shitholes can manage voter ID, our country is a joke in this regard.

Funnily enough, it's also one of those rare occasions where leftoids are American exceptionalists. Guess not everything is done better in the conspicuously white countries that lefties threaten to emigrate to whenever a Republican is president.

american exceptionalism

they waffle on the issue when it's convenient.

sidenote: personally, I've always liked the term but I always felt the formulation was wrong. Americans aren't just naturally better than everyone else, if anything, we have a duty to be better, to expect more from one another and demonstrate tot he world our way is better.
