It may simply be too late in the election cycle to replace Biden. They could pull some nonsense at the convention, but most of the delegates who will be there will have already been selected on the basis of votes for Biden specifically. Any candidate who replaces him will have a very fractious Dem party to campaign with as a result.
On top of that, the question remains who can possibly replace him and actually do better electorally. If they push him out before the convention, it would be difficult to sidestep Kamala, who is even more deranged than Biden is. Whitmer is so unpopular that she might actually lose her home state. Newsom might solidify the female vote, but he's such a wet blanket that Trump would walk all over him rhetorically, and the mess he's made of California gives him a terrible record to run on, which the other side can exploit.
The delegates are also a problem if Biden doesn't go willingly or die. They're bound to Biden and there are rules in place to replace them if they were to vote for someone else.
If Biden is swapped out, only Kamala has legal right to use his war chest.
My understanding is that Kamala just has to be on the ticket. So they could theoretically keep her in the VP slot and replace Biden with say Big Mike and be good to go.
They could JFK Biden, which I think they're spiteful enough to do. That would solve some of their problems, notably the fractious party, especially if they're able to pin it on Trump supporters somehow. I'm sure the FBI has a glownigger on hand that can get the job done.
Who else is there?
Big Mike. He's the obvious choice to replace Kamala without triggering a spat over DIE. As I've said elsewhere there's no one more oppressed than a black faggot in a dress.
My brother and I have been speculating about Michelle "Big Mike" Obama potentially joining the race last minute, along with a highly unlikely chance of Killary Clinton joining and getting beat for the 3rd time.
You're not the only ones, not by a long shot. Big Mike solves the DIE problem that replacing Kamala poses. I think the Kamala stays on the ticket so they keep access to the money. A Big Mike/Kamala ticket is the most likely outcome IME. Kamala would probably stay VP to limit the damage she can do electorally but it's possible they put Big Mike in the VP slot instead.
What do you think about this idea I read in an opinion piece:
Biden makes Obama his running mate and publicly announces that he will resign pretty much immediately upon election. The 22nd Amendment only bars someone from being "elected to the office of President" more than twice. He wins, resigns, and you get another 4 years of Obama.
I personally don't think it will work because running Obama wouldn't get them any votes they didn't already have, and may very well lose them a few from people who don't appreciate them gaming the system.
Plus, they're almost certain to be mired in court challenges- the 22nd Amendment also says that you can only be elected once if you served more than two years of another president's term. Since Obama's already been elected twice, that language would seem to bar him from just assuming Biden's term.
The suggestion, just like calls to pack the Supreme Court, does serve to illustrate how the Democrats are only interested in the rules as a means to acquire power, and they eagerly look for any loophole to abuse the system when it no longer suits them.

They don't want her either because she is an even bigger underdog against Trump.

Not a bad thought, but the real question is, why would Obama do that when he's already running the administration?
