Seems every year you see this. I live in Texas, summers are hot and anyone who has a heat related death gets tied to climate change. They do this in the winter too. Here in north Texas winters shift between cold and warm until spring but whenever it gets warm in January they act like we are going to die.

Last year they started reporting surface temperatures instead of the normal air temperatures around here because they are MUCH higher. Of course they hid that fact somewhere in the fine print so they could claim historic doomsday temperatures.
They made up something called "wet bulb temperature" that nobody has ever actually used to measure anything before in the last couple years too.
It's not an awful metric, it's just a measure of how hot it is taking into account evaporation. Useful communicating in one number for how survivable different temp/humidity combos are without needing a chart. It's basically "air temperature but if you couldn't sweat any harder."
But if they're mixing it with normal temperature, extremely dishonest. Which is what we have come to expect.
