If it doesn't have a solid built-in fanbase to piss off, they don't bother. They can't create, only parasiticlly corrupt.

I think it’s simpler than that. Horizon is already pozzed, so there’s no reason to adapt it. The entire motivation for adaptation is to destroy or subvert IPs that are not already gay.
