I guess I should have been more specific. I assumed it was for "hush money", but I was asking if the circumstances were the same. It looks like they are close enough. Though in Edwards case there was an actual confirmed affair and illegitimate child, and with Trump it was a not confirmed meeting for sex.
There’s also the fact congress has a sexual harassment slush fund but that’s somehow acceptable. The Trump situation is also far different because no where in it was the money explicitly stated as hush money, they bought the “rights to their story”. Edward’s just flat out paid bribes.
