Got the disc version from a coworker - yeah Sony / Shift Up are faggots for the day 1 censor but I am greatly surprised by the game. I am 40 hours in and I am taking my time.
The setting is more of less the same as Nier:Automata, at least the setup.
- Main character is hot. Side character are hot. NPC's are hot. Best of all: NO NIGGERS.
- Gameplay is not for normies though. Is not Bayo or DMC. Can't just smash button. Even on Story Mode is not as easy as it seems.
- Cool animations, the gore "censorship" is not even noticeable. Doesn't even matter, the blood doesn't even stay on her for more than a few frames.
Imma prolly beat the game and as long there is no blatant faggotry (subtle hints of lesbianism) ill buy the physical copy of the game. There is a little throw away line refencing "muh global warming" early in the game.
9/10 IMO.
EDIT: Looks like they listened. The new 1.003 patch includes two new outfits that are based on the 1.00 version. They actually look better.
People aren't buying Soyny's consoles because they oppose their censorship policies; normies by and large aren't even aware of them and any who are likely don't care regardless. They're not buying the PoS5 because it's an expensive hunk of metal that's not offering anything notable or with a marked improvement over what the last generation produced. And Japan in particular has been moving away from home consoles entirely for some time, cutting further into their sales.
Square's too compromised. They'll still work to appeal to "modern audiences" if for no other reason than to collect those free ESG funbux. They're also not outright abandoning Soyny, they're just not signing any more exclusivity deals with them. They still need to abide to Soyny's policies if they want to keep making anything for the PoS5, which means every version of their games will be censored. Companies prefer to make a one-size-fits-all product rather than make cuts and alterations to a specific version to suit its affiliated platform owner's standards, and we all know Microsoft is adopting similar ones as well. Seriously, I don't see anything change happening with Square.
This is the correct assessment, and an unfortunately grim one.
We won't see any changes until after the industry collapses.
