"Ruckus, where are Huey and Riley?"
"Where they belong, with the convicts."
I have never seen a black character who I have less in common with, but love more, than Uncle Ruckus. I can hear him so perfectly.
I thought this was just a wacky meme until I looked up the actual design. Honestly hard to tell the difference.
I don’t think Hestia has vitiligo. She’s the goddess of the hearth. I’m pretty sure she’s just covered in soot.
It's modern day. It's the skin condition.
I think that was the intent, but then her clothes are perfectly clean so it fails to give the proper impression there.
Its early access and a lot of characters are literally still sketches or placeholder floating cloaks, so there is a non-zero chance she gets changed before 1.0 like a lot of them did back in the first game's EA.
Otherwise they really did make the only outright black character also a complete Aunt Mammy stereotype.
Hestia is typically portrayed as having soot all over the hem of her dress, with a cheerful smile. It's the inspiration for the character of Cinderella in fact.
Not... Whatever that is.
I think they wanted to go the “welcoming granny” route for their version. She does have a cheerful smile when she hasn’t been face swapped with Uncle Ruckus. I’m not saying it’s necessarily a great adaptation, just that I don’t think it’s supposed to be vitiligo.
Which itself would be out of character for Hestia. She's a young appearance virgin goddess, the first of them in fact.
The portrayal is at best abject ignorance. And I'm done giving the benefit of the doubt to leftoids, ever. I'll always assume malice.
Commie fags have accompllished much using the "never assume malice when it could be stupidity" fallacy pushed as cover.
People never seem to bring up the corollary: "Sufficiently advanced stupidity is indistinguishable from malice."
Of course. That's what it was created for. Leftoids delight in spouting the word "fallacy" at every variety of common sense. The only vacuous phrase they love more is that correlation and causation one, something only ever uttered in history by people desperate for an excuse to ignore a damning correlation.
What sucks about Hades is you can tell there's a lot of genuine talent behind it, but they're in SF so being part of the cult of pozz is mandatory.
SJW games are almost always dogshit so this series really sticks out as an exception.
Darren Korb is probably one of the single most talented men in the gaming industry in general, and I don't think the company will release an outright bad game as long as he is involved.
this is gonna suck to say because i credit Transistor with making me love music, but Hades' OST was meh and 2 is rehashed exponential meh with terrible story-writing behind it. the first bad signs were him getting his Indie Singer Voice all up in Pyre's OST, and by Hades it's like they forgot what a good singer Ashley was. now there's some harpy in the second one going "i will keel u with my claws and drown u eeeee" as if those are interesting lyrics.
I don't think anything will ever top Bastion for me personally. First time I bought a video game OST and still listen to it regularly.
I can give some leeway to Hades 1 lacking somewhat because he went ahead and voiced two major characters he wasn't supposed to on top of the music and the amount of voiced dialogue per character in that game puts most AAA titles to shame. None of its bad, its just less "I'm buying the album for this song immediately" like the prior games.
I also personally like how dumb the Scylla song is simply because its meant to be that dumb, but I see your point on it.
Be~ll!! Where are you my darling Bell?
