I mean there's a reason kids of single moms almost always turn out worthless. It's a job that truly can't be done right by one person, even absent all other responsibilities.
If your trad playbook is husband just earns all the money and wife just does all the kid stuff, you're gonna have shitty kids and a resentful relationship.
If the husband helps play with and look after the kids, and the wife learns to look after money properly and hustles a little in her free time whilst the husband helps with kids, you're going to get better results.
One - obviously all committed to their children's wellbeing, since you typically have to actively fight for them to become a single dad, instead of defaulting into single motherhood
Two - not afflicted with retarded girlbossitis, and go out of their way to find someone to help raise their kids instead of throwing them in shitty daycare to chase his dreams. Even if it's help from family instead of romamtic partners it's better than nothing.
And three - just because it's an impossible job alone, doesn't mean your average man can't still do a better partial success than average women.
And bear in mind it's only better, lots of kids of single dads are still way more fucked up than ones from complete families.
Just cause the mom is fucked up doesnt mean the dad isnt as well? Also wouldnt that imply the moms who had custody were actually the better single mom that were available yet they still had huge disparities in outcome compared to single dads and 2 parents

I think you're missing my point. That's not what I'm saying. I'm going to make up some numbers so you can see what I'm getting at. Assume that good/bad parenting has a normal distribution in both sexes. Half good, half bad. If a father has to be 25% better than the mother to get custody, it means the bottom 25% of fathers never get custody (a 0.0001% mother would be picked over a 24.999% father). So you're comparing the averages of 0-100 quality for women and 25-100 quality for men.
Yes there are cases where both parents are lousy, but if they were equally lousy, the court would have given custody to the mother anyway. Meaning, on average, single fathers are going to be better parents than single mothers. Even if men and women had the exact same distribution of parenting ability.
Basically your child will get plenty of female role models with female teachers etc for young kids being very common. Unfortunately if you take a dad away there aren't really any other male influences in our society.
I agree that the husband should at least spend some time with the kids/help out a little, but I completely disagree that the wife should work. At all.
In an ideal trad situation, the wife should be at home, looking after the kids and everything else there. Not working. As was literally the norm until relatively recently...
Not saying it is necessarily feasible to do that, in our current society, in most Western countries, but that is the ideal that should be pursued where/as much as possible, IMHO...
By hustle I mean keep an eye out for sales on goods they need or purchases they intend to make, save money by making stuff from ingredients instead of buying ready made, or little remote work jobs with no obligatory hours (the AI LLM answer checking stuff still pays $22+/hr for anyone with just decent written comprehension skills, until that collapses)
Any time spent working is time not spent looking after the house. In reasonable human society, none of the women would work and they would help each other raise kids and manage households, cooking and doing light house repair etc.
My wife doesn’t work. I don’t want her to work. I want her to make sure I never have to deal with a single house issue.
Yeah, there should be zero requirement for a stay at home Mom to earn any money. The bread winner should be making sure she has the money to buy what she needs, and a little bit of spending money just for her.
That said, she should be able to manage family savings and even some investing. But her focus should be on saving money, not earning it.

Then why do single dads have better outcomes than single moms generally?
Because single dads are
One - obviously all committed to their children's wellbeing, since you typically have to actively fight for them to become a single dad, instead of defaulting into single motherhood
Two - not afflicted with retarded girlbossitis, and go out of their way to find someone to help raise their kids instead of throwing them in shitty daycare to chase his dreams. Even if it's help from family instead of romamtic partners it's better than nothing.

Do you have any idea how fucked up a mom has to be for the father to be awarded sole custody? Huge selection bias at work.
Just cause the mom is fucked up doesnt mean the dad isnt as well? Also wouldnt that imply the moms who had custody were actually the better single mom that were available yet they still had huge disparities in outcome compared to single dads and 2 parents
