I simply don't believe that. The majority almost certainly fall into the other category you describe but I absolutely believe that propaganda can be used to completely shatter people's minds. Were you not paying attention for the last four years? Propaganda is used because it works.
I've been paying attention for ten years. Of course propaganda can be used to shatter people's minds. But first and foremost in people's minds is always their self-interest. You may disagree or find their self-interest repellent, I'm sure you do if they find it in their interests to say that "as a white person, I have many privileges".
But while we both obviously cannot look into people's minds, I find the odds of them doing it because of 'empathy' or any other positive spin you could put on it at zero. Propaganda has persuaded them that this is the way to increase their social standing. So this is what they do.
Not after they've been shattered.

I think you and Antonio are considering different 'levels' of broken people. You are considering the kind of people who become/are truly depressed and mentally unhealthy (like me).
I think u/antonioofvenice is just pointing out that a person merely saying or thinking their race is bad may not immediately an hero if they were handed a gun after saying so. They still need to be 'convinced' of the solution to the white problem.
True, and besides that, I think most of them are cynical in that they only say that their 'race is bad' because they think it helps them to say that on an individual level. If whites who said 'whites are bad' were treated with the contempt they deserve, rather than being feted, it'd disappear as soon as it arrived.
Of course, even someone who cynically 'whites are bad' while being white will have cognitive dissonance, so it's not surprising that those on the identitarian far-left have more mental issues than others.
Incentives matter. Not sure why that is so controversial.
Dogs, cockroaches, every living being on the planet and even some non-living beings like states, are driven by the desire to survive, and by self-interest.
You don't see white people who claim to believe that 'whites are bad' throw themselves off bridges to rid the world of white people. That's because they claim to believe that other white people are bad, and in actuality they're neutral on the issue, and are just saying things that is in their self-interest.
In order to support this claim and also refute what you’re trying to refute, you’ll need to explain someone choosing to commit suicide, and do so in a way that doesn’t also open the door for hostile propagandists convincing many people to engage in suicidal behavior.
I think that is fairly easy. I'm not sure there are many people who would argue that most suicides are the result of 'propaganda'.
