I don't recall anyone calling it fake. Do people even care about PGO anymore? The sudden resurgence of the news is pretty much because mainstream picked up the story and literally no one likes what happened.
EDIT: I take it back, the news before was testing before the update went live. It's now live.
I tried to play it back in tge day and had my fun with it, but stopped after I started to realize how psycologicaly demanding it got. Like, I didn't feel so obligated since tamagatchi. That, and the game ate my battery faster than a fat bitch with a family size potato chip bag
When I tried to get back into it, it was like "Oh cool, the same endgame since 2017", and quit. You'd think they would do more with that. Most of the game development seems to be just putting new pokemon in and balancing around that.
I thought about picking it up again so I'd have something to do with my neice, but then they made the player characters hideous.
Yep, I fully quit about a year ago when even spoofing was becoming too much work
Its a social game. The only value it had early on was that everyone was playing it, and it was Gen 1 which everyone had nostalgia for.
Anyone still playing after all their friends quit was either too deep in the sunken cost or a tryhard making it impossible for anyone else to enjoy it.
