Prefix: This has NOTHING to do with the US elections or Trump directly, this is about the principle in general.
Have one of my friends in London (pray for them) recently chatting to me over some games, talking about how they recently got their voting ballots mailed to them. It's slim pickings to say the least but for one of the positions they only had the option of Conservative, Labour, Lib Dem, Greens snd Reform.
They're looking into the Reform candidate as they MASSIVELY went down in their opinion due to recent capitulations so they told me they'd spoil their ballot like last time when they only had 4 options and Reform wasn't even a choice than endorse ANY of these parties.
I personally think this is the right choice. Everyone SHOULD vote but if none of the candidates match up to your morality or standards, you should be given the right to put none of the above or straight up spoil your ballot in refusal to endorse. The UK ballots apparently don't have a 'none of the above' option even though it is perfectly legal to spoil your ballot and is in fact counted as a spoiled ballot on election day.
I'm just thinking back on how humiliated Haley was when she lost a primary to 'none of the above' and relating it to the poor voter turnout numbers of the UK and other Western countries. Imagine if all those didn't vote turned into refuse to endorse votes, might be enough to show how much the emperor is without clothes.
There's almost always way too many local measures and positions on the ballot that I do want to vote for that I'd never spoil my ballot. These roles served as a pretty effective buffer between me and the crazies during the covid clownery for example. DC politicians are a tiny part of the ballot, I could write-in or choose not to vote for any of those. I don't believe it's mandatory to pick one to vote for.
I won't spoil it, I just ripped the one that was sent up.
The choice is between commies in red, commies in blue, eco commies in yellow or cucks that bend over to hope not hate.
What makes you think you can humiliate these people when just yesterday we had a thread about a left wing politician eating human excrement? If you want a protest vote, vote for Reform until you find someone better.
Vote for reform.
Why? Reform are controlled by HopeNotHate, Tice the Mice bent over backwards to please them.
Because you should vote as far right as you can. Reform isn't good enough, but they're still better than letting everyone else pick in your stead.
But re, sorry Conform UK isn't anywhere near the right, let alone far right.
Micey Ticey removes his own candidates for repeating his own party's policy because HopeNotHate cried.
He's actively working with HNH to vet further candidates, he's praising and groveling to HNH.
If at this point you still vote for conform UK then you're either mind numbingly stupid or a secret (not so any more though) commie.
I have always spoiled my vote when it comes to crass whole scale political elections.
I don't think voting should be mandatory, like it is in Australia, but I think it is important and I think letting those putting themselves forward through the borked system know that I consider them a fool is the most important thing I can do.
Let the will of the people decide their fate and begone with this illusion of choice.
I should ask anyone who is in a mandatory voting area, do they provide a 'none of the above' option on the voting ballot as I have noticed them in places trying to force you to choose than let you know you can simply refuse.
Seems to be one of those things like Jury nullification that they DON'T want you knowing about.
This is akin to lumping jaywalking and murder into the category of "crime".
I get the distinct feeling that if the UK had that option, it would be 90% voting 'you're all useless fucks, gives us our tax money back!' EVERY election lol
Looks at Switzerland's referendum with great interest..
That is part of the reason why you have groups like the "Monster Raving Loony Party" there's no way that they'll get in but its an active refusal to vote for any of the big parties.
I'm still going to vote as I don't fully trust the system as I imagine its harder to change a vote than it is to just fill a blank one in.
That's part of the reason to spoil if the only difference in candidates offered is how fast they anally screw you.
If you voted but have ensured it's spoiled in a way they can't use your vote it at least stops them 'voting on your behalf'
I have noticed them using people's unwillingness to vote as a sort of 'silent acceptance' of their rule, it is a big reason you should vote even to just spoil it so they can't use it.
my dumb question is... what happens when a spoiler vote manages to have enough duplicates to win?
