Only the most blind retards can't see that the Civil War was two evil ideas battling each other for victory. And I doubt any of the men back then weren't capable of seeing it too, as this passage proves.
The problem being that one of those ideas was already on its way out naturally, and its natural death would have had far less growing pains on the very people it sought to "save." While the other still has us enslaved to this day.
Lincoln undid everything this nation had built on nothing but his cowardice, as his own writings and decrees showed it wasn't on any principle, and he was at least rightfully shot for it.
