Basically, illegals should just be handled as 'you're illegal, get the fuck out'
After years of seeing the bureaucracy in action, I'm concerned pushing back solely on the gun aspect is a trap than focusing on the deportation aspect.
If you believe in deporting illegals, then the only way an illegal could possibly have a firearm would be if they obtained it via illegal means, unless you decide to stop requiring identification when purchasing firearms. Now if you're coming from the libertarian camp then maybe you could argue absolutely zero regulation on firearm transactions, but what I found odd was that for some reason you chose to argue that our Constitution should protect foreign invaders.
I'm heavily on the libertarian side of you should be able to mail order guns and not just the black powder ones in the US. And in those circumstances there shouldn't be any restrictions other than if your physically able to handle the weapon as recoil is a thing.
In that regard them trying to do this I have no problem with, since by going along with it I can go 'so how are they getting a weapon with no documentation?' which they clearly haven't thought about and if they double down, opens it more to my preference of Americans able to own a M249 with no restrictions. That's why I feel it's a trap as they want us to react to the gun part first than the illegal part.
And even if that happens, still deporting the illegals, if people who married Americans are stuck in waiting, why should your criminal ass jump the queue.
