Last I heard it? 1998. I was in Denver, walking back from my job talking to a fellow employee when he mentioned that phrase as we walked by a store with the name "Surrender Dorothy" and then explained it. It's a reference to The Wizard of Oz film where the Wicked Witch skywrites "Surrender Dorothy". That itself being an overall reference to the help that Judy Garland gave the faggot mafia back in the time of the Stonewall riot. She was a "Friend of the Family" and they were "Friends of Dorothy".
Friend of Dorothy.
Hadn't heard that one in a minute.
Last time I heard that was in the movie "Clueless"
