too bad the original dragon quest games are not on steam, but i suppose i can always emulate them...
...if you're going back to the NES, look for "Dragon Warrior." For some reason, they changed the name when they localized it int he 90s

They’re all excellent and well worth playing, 3,4,5,8, and 11 in particular. Eight might be my favorite Jrpg of all time.
4 and 5 have pretty good NDS remakes, and 3 is supposed to get a remake of its own pretty soon.
