This is second time that an appeals court has decided to be the adult in the room on this topic. The Sixth Circuit ruled the same thing not too long ago. The pattern is always the same in these cases: A groomer district court judge blocks the ban and an appeals court overturns it. Hopefully SCOTUS either declines review or upholds this. District courts shouldn't be enabling pedophiles like this.
This means one of two things, either district judges are collecting paychecks or they are absolutely idiotic and should not be qualified to be in the position they are in.
So pretty much the average lowest level judge is just a political hack that is there because they are part of the right club. The ones that have some self awareness will hire good clerks to do all their work, the ones who don't will just be unholy terrors and get all their decisions overturned.
Some judges are elected, others are appointed. But even the elected judges a lot of the time there really isn't a choice. If say the democratic party dominates that county, whoever the party picks is the automatic winner by default.

Or they know that load-bearing psychopathy is a valuable recruitment tool for leftists, and will fight to preserve it for that reason.
