Maybe they finally saw the writing on the wall after what they did to Trump. They should have moved to Florida or Texas instead of a state that will be in the same situation in a decade or two.
I wouldn't consider Florida for gun manufacturing simply due to the humidity. They'll rust right out of the factory.
A blogger I used to follow (he retired from blogging and his blog is now offline) bought a Remington 700 several years ago (this was pre-COVID)…

I don't know if Remington's been doing better ever since the restructuring/sale from Cerberus Capital Management, but I haven't seen anything new from them in a while.
Texas is going to be pink in a few years. Probably full blue by 2030. They should have built a Californian proof wall years ago.
