While my beliefs and opinions on this sort of thing may have “evolved” somewhat, over time, I have always felt that people, especially women, like her mother (a white, blonde, Catholic American) who convert to Islam, are damn traitors…
And that applies regardless of whether they are American, or Australian, or Swedish, or French, or really anything else “Western”…
If you grow up in a Western country, in a non-Muslim environment and family, and you decide to betray all that, to convert to a religion, philosophy and “way of life” that actively hates the society and country you were born into..? Well I think that makes you as close to a “race traitor” as we might like to define that term…
To them, religion is purely aesthetic. They took off one hat and put on another. I sincerely doubt this person adheres to the real tenants of islam. It's just a way for her to claim oppression points.
