Ubisoft have been pushing “FINALLY A WOMAN PROTAGONIST” since AC Syndicate back in 2015. They give you the “option” to choose the more historically accurate male character, but it’s purely cosmetic. NPC’s still call you “she”, male characters make passes at you etc.

At the end of Valhalla they straight up just say “fuck you” and put their chain-smoking lesbian into the final cut scenes even if you’ve played as the male Eivor for the last 300 hours. You can actually feel the contempt. They hate you, and they want you to know it. Fuck you.

And with each new release it becomes harder and harder to ignore. Like how in Mirage they made Basim the narrator from fight club except that his Tyler Durden was a strong girlboss who was supposed to be Loki’s id or some stupid shit (I dunno, I only watched synthetic man’s review because nothing can make me actually play it).

But the problem is that the “finally a woman protagonist” bullshit is so tired and worn and played out that even Ubisoft can see it. So they’re trying to spice it up with the return of the 2 protag setup, except one of them now has to be a token black samurai because of some obscure legend somewhere that may or may not be true. So they pander to women and BLM in one foul swoop and broadcast that virtue signal nice and bright for everyone to see.

God only knows what retarded bullshit their “codename hexe” will be, with its lesbian witches and open satanism.

Valhalla was basically the last straw for me. I got off of the assassin’s creed train there. It’s a pity because I really loved the series back in the day, but they’ve made it clear that it’s not FOR me anymore, so they can all fuck off.
