it's not. It's famously difficult to farm, and africa imports 5x the food that they produce, to the point that if we ever have a global agricultural interruption, Africa is Fucked.
Well, now they do. Back before the fall of Rhodesia, the Rhodies and South Africans were producing so much that they were exporting, including exporting to countries embargoed by the US... wait... was the GAE behind the fall of Rhodesia?
Because they had mastered it. I think both can be true. The Boers are proud of making a living on this kind of land.
