There's a scene with Oppenheimer defends his work on the Manhattan Project to his friend by saying, "It's not your people that are being targeted." Because Oppy is a jew. What strikes me is he defends the leftist in the Spanish Civil War despite them killing Catholics and raping nuns. I'm not a blame the jooz guy but I find it interesting that defending the Jewish community is good, but destroying a Christian community isn't even a consideration when picking sides.

I don't know enough about Oppenheimer to know if he did leak information. The movie makes it clear he didn't. Even though he was shown to be a far leftist.
The Russians have claimed for years that he and others provided everything to them. He was also a member of the Communist Party of America or whatever it was called, regardless of what the film says. He attended their events and gave them money. He was also openly friends with dozens of communists. This is all basic math, nothing close to the complexity of nuclear physics is needed to find the sum of all the evidence.
The film openly paints him as a leftist but suggests he wasn't a full on communist. The film admits he gave money to American communist organization but only to support the Republicans in Spain. Again I don't know enough about him to know if he did leak information to the Russians.
You see a man running away from a crime scene with a gun, you turn the corner and see a victim on the ground dying of a gun wound. The police question you about the assailant fleeing the scene wearing a green jacket and running with a gun in hand.
I'm not sure if the jacket was green, therefore he must be innocent because I don't know 🤷🏻
I'm not looking for an argument. I honestly don't know if he leaked info. I know just enough that either outcome wouldn't surprise me. I don't know enough to have an opinion on it.
You know how taking the time to differentiate between a socialist, a leftist, a communist, a liberal, etc is all just distinctions without a difference? It was like that 80 years ago too.
You aren't wrong but those groups will all argue the distinction themselves.
Ed Teller was right.
About not trusting Oppy with the bomb because he was erratic?
He didn't trust Oppenheimer with anything. He didn't think he should have any security clearance in the US.
