Its basically a Japanese version of YellowFlash . They speak against wokesm in nerd hobbies but its all in Japanese .And they often translate anti woke nerd English articles and videos for the Japanese audience to watch.
I loved one of the Japanese comments under one of his videos in response to that article about how Japanese game companies are now having to consider overseas standards like "sexism" and censor what might be considered "sexist" by overseas (things like that) and the comment stated that "these companies arent giving in to overseas fans they are giving in to overseas activsts and giving in to them and doing what they want under duress is the same as terrorism. "
But seriously fuck the suits in these companies that choose to listen to localizers instead of actual fans . Sega even tweeted the article running for the defense of localizers.
I'd happily go back to the roughly translated and sometimes cryptic or laughable translations by the team itself like in the 80s.
At least they were trying to convey what was going on to the best of their ability.
Not even needed, I have at least one friends who is near fluent in Japanese that, if given the opportunity, would probably quit his current job to be an accurate translator/localized, especially since it really is a work from home position nowadays.
seems like asia (mostly japan and korea) is gonna fall to wokeness. most likely they are behind about 5ish years.
I know I am retarded, but why would the Japanese give a shit about Westerners getting shitty localizations of their media?
Because it is now at the point where localizers have wormed their way into being directly involved with the game design process and telling the game devs to preemptively censor shit, affecting even the original Japanese versions of video games.
I guess a lot might not, but some recognize a culture war going on worldwide that is effecting everyone.
Japan is small. Most money they make is overseas. If they can’t get distribution they make no money so even Japan isn’t immune to pandering. They’ve just been more resilient to it. Once Sony moved its headquarters to the US, you got black Spiderman trying to setup a gay marriage proposal or something in Spiderman 2 and trying to carry the torch away from Peter Parker for no good reason.
Nintendo is the main company holding the line. Even then, in things like the Mario movie, you’re seeing it creep in around the edges.
Do you want their exposure to our art to be modernist bananas on walls and toilets? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdrvpSfJM1w
A healthy culture would take pride in their best work being loved overseas.and puzzlement or bemusement if for some reason something weird becomes a trend elsewhereth. Like the mexicans loving dragonball z, or the germans watching that old english comedy skit as a christmas tradition.
The localizers look just like one would expect them to:

One thing that I've noticed about Japan is that they're probably the only non-white group who actually have been pivotal in video game history. (Sure, one can find Chinese and Korean video games, but they tend to be browser or 'free 2 play' games which lure you into paying money for advantages: only Japan can come up with AAA games like Metal Gear or Soul Calibur.)
The other thing that I've noticed is these Japanese video games tend to feel quite alien, which is why I would like you to elaborate on how Japanese video games are 'becoming Westernized'? There isn't really a Japanese analogue to such games as Age of Empires or Call of Duty, for example, nor is there any Western analogue to such games as Ace Combat, Soul Calibur, and Tekken. 'Fighting games' are totally Japanese. (I haven't played any video game made past 2016 and have no idea what is going on in contemporary video gaming.)
Even Metal Gear was ultimately full of Japanese features (e.g. the HF Blade and the 'Ninja' in MGS2), even if it felt highly Westernized (e.g. most of the main characters are racially non-Asian, and remarkably few characters are both non-Asian and non-White. There's usually a token black somewhere, such as Anderson in MGS1 and MGS3, Stillman and Dolph in MGS2, and Drebin in MGS4). In that respect, Japanese video games have been Westernized for decades: I don't think Tekken or Soul Calibur were majority Asian in terms of their characters either.
Also, please elaborate on the 'woke' Japanese. I don't think we know much about these people: for instance, what they want, who they vote for, what causes them, and so on.
Japan has their own culture war going on with its own Japanese otaku hating the changes and the woke fucks trying to justify them by trying to say that overseas people want it. I think some Japanese otaku know that argument is bullshit
