Women who watch "influencers" purchase product to signal to the herd that they are up to date with the latest groupthink
It's pretty normal for them to start diluting brands that have a "rugged" image. You can go all the way back to Abercrombie and Fitch, a sometime field outfitter. Carhart is one that's been undergoing a makeover.
