Isn't that one of those generic isekai shit? That "genre" is the most low effort cancer ever.
The entire "dragon quest universe ripoff" genre needs to die, too. If your series has videogame mechanics, it's trash.
To think that that 2000s would actually be looked back on fondly would have baffled a younger me, because goddamn anime is SHIT now.
It's not 'isekai' because it's regression to an earlier time with all your memories but it's in the bracket of 'revenge' stories.
There's a LOT of 'revenge through regression' stories nowadays, especially in manwha. Going back in time to fuck people up who made your life hell.
I'd love to see if they ever make an anime of Devil Returns to School Days or 'The Strongest Brave Who Craves For Revenge Extinguish With The Power Of Darkness' because the former is less fucked up than Redo but the latter is WAY MORE fucked up.
90% of everything is shit. Always was and probably always will be. There are countless run of the mill shit isekai anime. There are also plenty of good and great ones.
Speaking of anime as a whole, we've been eating quite well lately, and this season with Frieren, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, and Kage no Jitsuryokusha has been a continuation of that trend.

It's a fantasy setting, not an isekai. The entire setting takes place in one singular world, that world not being Earth, and no one from other worlds, any other worlds, Earth included, are present on that one.
It's the story of a (male) healer who was made into a sex slave for the heroes (male and female), who decides to flip things around and go on a rape-quest against all who wronged him. Highly offensive, high impact sexual violence, and beloved by many female anime fans with questionable sexual fetishes. Tourists, however, treat it like vampires treat garlic-coated crosses, because... rape-quest.
