This is just the route we have been going down as a civilization as people let themselves become more and more "shook" by seeing bad things depicted fictionally to fake people in media.
So its inevitable that people have become so used to letting media "effect" them that things that we used to find blase and funny in media would start to get treated like they were happening in real life and trigger the same emotions in people.
I honestly was 'shook' when I first saw this in a GTA game. It was realistic for the time made me very uncomfortable. Then I got over it, because it's fictional. I don't know that I LIKE having become desensitized to it, but whatever.
It's weird that someone would get upset about it now, especially someone used to these games, who by his own admission happily rampages against the police in them.
Only GTA4 gave me that slight uneasiness at first, because it had a more realistic style where the previous games were cartoony. I had no problems mowing people down with the minigun in Vice City. But like you I quickly got over it.
I'm sorry what did you say? I couldn't hear you because I was busy over here in my modded FO3 killing all the children of Little Lamplight.
There are 3 kinds of modders:
Going on a shooting spree on the streets in GTA is fine, but in a building? That crosses the line, bucko.
"Look, all I'm gunna say is something-something yer mum's house last night. *fart reverb* Shyiiit!"
Well of course NPC's would be mad.
Hehehe take your upvote.

To be fair, Gman has been on that trajectory for a while. Never quite as blatant with the pearl clutching, but still.
What's also wild is people trying to defend this and twisting themselves into knots to explain how they aren't like Jack Thompson.
Not exactly woke. Just a bit stupid.
