The way taxes work for media companies is probably the largest proof that it all exists as a scheme, and has no basis existing at all.
WB especially seem to shelve, cancel, and write off more shit than they actually release, going back multiple decades. Because apparently the system is that easy to game.
I did not assume it was going to be good, I simply find it bizarre that they waited until the movie was completely finished before shelving it and during all those years of filming nobody decided to give up half way or to change direction, or God forbid, somebody had realised this was not going to be a good movie before committing $70 million dollars and years of their life making it. And since they got taxpayer money I think the US government should now own the movie and release it for free to everybody.
Quotes from the article suggest it apparently tested well in screenings. I would have doubts based on a seemingly lawsuit-themed title and John Xina involved.

At least Jack Warner simply didn't care about them as long as they made money, and he was a MASSIVE dick.
Why are we assuming this shit was going to be any good?

Apparently they tested it and the results were super encouraging.
The Scooby and Krypto crossover is.
Counterpoint: Modern Hollywood
Only 3 more years until Zaslav hits retirement age and they force him out in favor of someone else.
Then maybe all this will stop and they'll actually release things.
I can't belief they would do this to such famous Latinx characters.
