There you go.
How did they discern that the player did not just consider them to be bots or whatever, this does not sound like a human conversation.
Example of comment received and classified as positive male, Are we sure they did not run this a simulacra or something, this does not seem to be plausible interaction, not even for halo 3 pvp lobby.
Humans convey the same meaning without saying explaining 100% what they mean. “That was fun” would be the same as “I had fun in that game”. “(Username) fucking wrecked them”=“I’m proud you have the highest ranking”
Those quotes are definitely inhuman.
I'm sure they didn't.
So this is normal interaction of the halo 3 xbox community? in the age of about 2015 and earlier?
Apparently
That could be bants, given prior interaction. I could see two people riffing on each-other mock-voicing themselves in faux-posh-british. The actual study's quotes look like ChatGPT spat them out on a bad day.
I find it amusing the study uses terms feminists would call sexist. It raises an interesting point tho. Their hypothesis is that high-value males (their words) get in "attract a mate mode" and low value-men get more agressive in order for them to not lose their position in the hierarchy, the question is why low-value men are lashing out at females if they want to appeal more to them? (their own hypothesis) Their proposed solution is to teach men losing against women doesn't reduce their value, and that's easier to acomplish in a 50/50 gender ratio split.
Now for hindsight, games like Overwatch proved this wrong, imo. If you want to follow their line of thinking, my guess is just as simply as: low skilled men lashed out at perceived safe targets in high stress situations, and they were less prone to shit talk higher skilled men because, well, imagine being called out by them. You suck at the game and are trying to shift blame.
If anything, the takeaway is feminism at its core is women trying to get the perceived "alfas" to protect them from danger
This one is easy.
Women are fucking weak. They cry at the slightest threat, and their bodies are made to be tossed around. "Low-value" is a social standing, artificial. At any moment those labeled "low-value" males could simply stop playing by the rules and physically remind the women that they are weak and much "lower" on the totem pole than even the most pathetic male. But because its in a video game they can't actually physically do that, so they verbally shit out impotent anger and threats.
Its basic return to monke shit. You tear down the person who thinks themselves above you in the hierarchy because you know you can while not even bothering against the ones you know you can't, whereas the person secure in their standing has no reason to even care.
Given the smoothness of their correlations, they very likely made the whole thing up.
