Most will remember him for this meme worthy Harry Potter scene but me I'll remember him for this classic Top.Gear interview of how he always loved to fuck with he press.

I just saw that. For me both actors portrayed Dumbledore how I imagined him from the books.
I never liked Gambon as Dumbledore, but that's not necessarily a hit against him as an actor. He was a very high-energy guy for his whole life, even into old age, and he always brought the same frenetic, slightly manic edge to the characters he portrayed. And he was great at it: his screen presence and his ability to project barely-contained madness added a lot to pretty much everything he was in.
I feel like he played a compelling Dumbledore, though it wasn't truly what the books tried to describe Dumbledore as. He definitely brought his own energy to the character, for better or for worse.
Regardless, he'll be missed for the amazing performances he provided.
Avoid Twitter for a week (more than usual), he was a big Harry Potter star so this probably stirred up the Tumblr side of that hornet's nest.
Gambon Corner should have a memorial on it
As long as it's a tilting car.
Agreed
For anyone who saw Open Range, he'll be running free grazers off the plains of heaven now.
He was also a villain on a doctor who Christmas special.
If you haven't seen it, check out Layer Cake - probably my favourite Gambon film.
The Harry Potter scene linked above had some serious ''I'm going to smack your insolent ass young man.'' energy.
That was why I linked it, recommend watching the Top Gear interview link as well as the comments underneath as there's some gems of things he's said over the years there.

I love that they included his speech into Lisa Gerrard's Aria on the official soundtrack.
