Does the US Army have any man portable thermobaric munitions still in inventory, or are we going to have to go back to the classic M2 flamethrower?
That sounds like the Fatman from Fallout 4 but IRL (yes I know the fatman is based on a real weapon.) Both of these things sound suicidal.
Thermobaric, not Thermonuclear.
Thermobaric weapons don't carry much of their own oxidizer, so they get more bang for their mass. Man portable systems have existed since the 70's, like the M202 FLASH.
I guess the bang on those isn't as big as I was imagining if you're shooting it 750m away.
