I called this pre pandemic. There were multiple “studies” being pushed on the “racial treatment” and how black people requested pain meds despite not showing the symptoms of other races. (I’m sure you can guess why someone on Medicare would want a big old bottle of OxyContin for baseline arthritis)
Black people are well known to overreport pain. And in adjustment, doctors are accused of ignoring black pain. Apparently the solution is to give them a shitload of opiates. go for it
Doctors just get a number from you and then make an adjustment like -2 cuz you're a pussy or +2 b/c you're a chad. But it doesn't matter to anyone with half a brain. Just say pain is 10 out of 10 if you need something. no1curr that you're lying. How much opiates you do is up to you. For me it is 0 outside of the hospital (I don't even like getting them, but that's what anesthesia is so if you need surgery...) I've never felt the absolute need, and I don't want to get mixed up with the side effects of opiates.
I think he's referring to the other reason black people might overreport pain. A big ol' bottle of OxyContin is a couple free meal tickets in the hood.
Good for them. We need more equity in opiate deaths.
