From everything I heard, the former minister was competent, replacing him with someone who says they should retake Crimea was a bad sign BEFORE all of this shit.

Zelensky has talked about retaking Crimea for months. So his new guy being in agreement with him isn' t really surprising.

For context, the Russian "invasion" was in February 2022.
