This is why I couldn’t take BLM seriously. Black lives don’t even matter to blacks. Why was I supposed to get upset when some other skin color killed one?
Not to mention that something like 90% of all interracial murders are committed by black people.
Not only do black lives not matter to black people, nobody else's lives do either. And the way it's presented in the media is as if the exact opposite is true, and that somehow black people are the victims of everybody else, but especially white people.
It’s not just black-on-white crime, as you know. Stop Asian Hate disappeared real fast when the background noise of black-on-Asian violence became so undeniable loud that it completely overwhelmed the media’s anti-white narrative. Ask every group who is the most violent and dangerous demographic and nearly all of them will immediately say blacks. The largest exceptions will be blacks and white liberals.
I tried to explain this to some people on Twitter, admittedly unsubtly. I think I just said "everyone hates blacks," but that's what I meant. It is possible people have a distorted idea about the actual opinions of the populace due to media distortions. Distortions so powerful that people will lie anonymously.
The dishonesty of their screeching is shown by the fact that they'll advocate for Michael Brown, who assaulted and tried to kill a cop, and want to give a medal to the guy who murdered Ashli Babbitt, a short, unarmed woman who was no threat to anyone.
Of course, it's not just about white/black, but it helps - I'm sure they'd love it if a black Trump supporter was murdered too.
and want to give a medal to the guy who murdered Ashli Babbitt, a short, unarmed woman who was no threat to anyone
I've always thought it wasn't completely unreasonable for him to shoot, but no way should he get a goddamn medal for it. Any call to give him one is politically motivated and is essentially saying 'it's virtuous to shoot right wingers'.
Which shouldn't be a big surprise from the 'Punch a nazi!/You're a nazi!' crowd.
It might not be 'completely unreasonable', maybe 1% reasonable or something, but when there is a barrier between you, the person you're killing is so unthreatening, and you neither warn nor fire warning shots, I do regard it as murder.
But murder in defense of the rich and powerful is always justified. I'm no John Brown supporter, but he said it exactly right.
They took the anti police violence movement and stole it. And managed to look stupid doing it. Anti police violence is a no brainer issue at least in the abstract. To go and say oh it's really about blacks grossly distorts everything that's going on primarily because most of the blacks deserve it.
If you limit yourself to blacks... it seems unsolvable. at the very least, you need to limit complaints to the guys who weren't asking for it. That should be argument 101, but BLM can't handle it because it's ideological for them.
Yup. I remember the movement was growing quickly in 2012-2013. It seemed like every day there were multiple posts on the reddit front page featuring police misconduct. I'm sure there were comments making it a race issue, but the overwhelming majority were focused on the issue without a racial component.
I think it was actually Matt Walsh that used to report in it a lot. It was in Reason magazine a lot. That was the first time I had ever been exposed to the media caring about police violence except for basically Rodney King shit. Alternative media anyways.
But it's kind of like the beating of protestors. Since Civil Rights the media DNGAF about white protestors beaten . But the beatings of so called Civil Rights campaigners are remembered to this day, like that asshole John Lewis who never did shit for his people BUT get beat up.
Here’s what most people don’t understand: the vast majority of black Americans view themselves as members of a parallel nation.
When a black person guns down another black person, they view it as internal strife. It’s their business, and they will handle it. Any attempt by police to investigate or punish such crimes is seen as outside interference by a hostile foreign force.
Similarly, when a cop shoots a black person, no matter how justified, it is viewed as a hostile aggression by a foreign nation. It’s literally an act of war and an “international incident”, complete with international news coverage.
The culture war of the last decade or so can be understood as an attempt by leftists to promote the parallel nation of black America to the position of primary nation. They are making a (largely successful) bid to take over the county from heritage America.

Yeah I can get behind a push to hold corrupt cops more accountable, but to make it all about black people is absurd.
99/100 times it's some thug who resisted arrest and fought the police and ended up dead. You make a cop fear for his life, he's going to put you down.
Tony Timba type incidents are what we should be focusing on, and it's clear that skin color has nothing to do with them.

Well yeah, see the compilations of them literally calling Clarence Thomas a "fucking nigger" and shit like that.

Then BLM hijacked it like you said.
