The whole Muslim V Progressivism is silly because you have one one side a movement that is a established structure versus a movement that erodes and subverts structures.
It's like saying a Rock will stand up to the tides better then a sand castle. The outcome is the same, the difference is just the time it takes.
What you'll find is that "western muslims" will no longer be considered muslims by everyone else. I seriously expect an Islamic breakoff towards a "tolerant and progressive" version of Islam based in the west. The ultimate subversion, just like the uniting church subverts the Catholic Church.
Look at churches.. up until a few decades ago it was well understood where the Bible stood on homosexuality. Even atheists would say that. Then all of a sudden you get the “well we are interpreting it wrong” people and now so many churches have bent the knee and a large number of young people go along with that nonsense
Perhaps, but also, you have one said that does nothing but play the crybully victim, and another side whose ideology allows for violence against the heretics. In that respect, Muslims have a leg up on some of the other people the subversives have come for in the past.
That said, I do agree that subversion is an incredibly strong force, even against those that should seemingly be able to resist it.
