Queen’s classic song 'Fat Bottomed Girls' removed from Greatest Hits collection!
The Daily Mail said that the track has 'been enjoyed by generations of fans as a humorous and hard-rocking tribute to a young man's appreciation of fuller-figured ladies.'
Couldn't remember the song so just listened to it, it alludes to sex but doesn't outright say it so if it's off a platform aimed at 3-12 that's parental choice.
The big question though is are they massive hypocrites and they have stuff like Anaconda or Whap on there because 'diversity'
That's not even really hinting, remember this comes from back when some lowlife type parents thought it was cute or OK for their sons to be introduced to sex via older whores (or naughty nannies) , in a way they would never allow for their daughters vis a vis creepy older men.
The meaning has always seemed pretty damned clear to me.
I like Queen's beats, but I fucking hate their stupid lyrics.
That being said, I do remember "Afternoon Delight" being all over the goddamn radio when I was a kid. But this is a streaming platform specifically for little-kid-friendly music (although 3-12 is a HUGE developmental range, there's no way a 12 year old should like the same things a 4 year old does. And I would worry about any kid older than about 8 that didn't start rejecting baby music.)
I dunno, I heard “Afternoon Delight” as a kid and the meaning of the words went way over my head. Hell, for the longest time I thought they were singing “Happy movie night”. Never occurred to me until much later that they were talking about sex.
Of course there’s Jackson Browne’s song “Rosie”. I had that LP for years, and finally I was listening to it and slapped my damn head and said out loud, “He’s singing to his own right hand. Isn’t he.”
