The most charitable explanation of why the government is now mass censoring “covid”/“2020 election fraud”/“vaccine injuries” and “climate skepticism” (twitter.com)

So their answer is 'to catch a murderer, we hired a murderer. Ignore the murdering he's still doing, he's here to catch the REALLY bad murderers'

Both Chinese/Soviet censors and Working-At-Big-Tech Censors are both communist.

The difference is - Working-At-Big-Tech-Censors actually believe the communist bullshit so are FAR more dangerous*

Chinese censors are probably like “calm down- we don’t need to take it so seriously. These guys are honest citizens.”

Big Tech Censors : “THEY MUST BE CRUSHED AND PURGED OF ALL IMPURE THOUGHTS”.

(* Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. C. S. Lewis )

The Chinese and Soviet censors had LITERAL swords of damocles over their head (especially Soviet under Stalin given that a lot of the higher ups were the kind of scum that were extremely happy to follow all his orders and execute them effectively as they got to do THEIR evil uninterrupted under him)

The big tech censors WANT to be the ones that hold the swords and have people terrified of them.

I can sort of see the argument, bad as it is, but there's still a basic question to ask: why do we need anyone to counter "disinformation"?

Our murderers are good. Their murders are bad.

The premise that we need "experts" or "experienced people" to manage disinfo is stupid and baseless (not accusing this guy of believing in it, he clearly doesn't). First of all, disinformation is a fabricated category that just means "whatever hurts the feds/WEF," second, the censors would have to censor their own disinfo, and third, a lot of "disinfo researchers" are left wing bums whose only qualification is that they take CNN as gospel and spend way too much time reading useless stuff online.

The idea that you need to employ spooks because only very smart and worldly people can figure out whether the government does or does not like ivermectin today is insulting to anybody in earshot. Their value is that they receive their marching orders direct from Langley (thereby removing the CNN middleman) and they lack moral scruples.

100%. Stupid, baseless, and evil. The idea is "you are too stupid to make decisions for yourself, and your political views are wrong anyway, so we must tell you what to think and we will decide for you which information is true or false."

You cannot get more totalitarian than this other than direct mind control, an elusive goal still being pursued by spooks everywhere. Move right into someone's psyche and take over. An entire nation populated by real Manchurian Candidates.

It is the inevitable reaction to the false promise of the Internet which, after all, was the result of Pentagon research and development.

“If you retweet James O’Keefe about 2020 mail in voting fraud then you are associated with Iran’s disinformation campaign” ?!?
