The question could very easily be, "do you like video games that have men and women in them?" and they get 87% "yes/don't care" and 13% "no (I don't like video games)" and then turn around and frame it as "everybody loves diversity!"
Daily reminder: everything they say is lies mixed up with a tiny bit of truth.
Or they asked "is diversity important in video games?" and 60% of people said "I don't know" because the question made no sense, and 35% of people said yes just because diversity = good.
They could have answered thinking "diversity" meant different types of games (FPS, RPG, etc) or that there's just a range of types characters (fit army man, fat man, etc)
Or just because they didn't want to sound like a "bad" person to the pollsters.
